- THRILL FACTORY
The Thrill Factory is a 50,000 square foot Family Entertainment Center located at East Town Mall in Madison Wisconsin. Thrill Factory consists of Polynesian Themed Restaurant, Bora Bora Jungle Themed Tiki Bar, Upper Deck Cocktail Veranda, Themed UV Mini Golf, 8 Escape Rooms, 12 Lanes of Bowling, Immersive Laser Tag, 3 Exciting Mini Escape Games, Adrenaline Rush Laser Maze, Fairy Tale Hobbit Adventure, 75+ Arcade Games, Walk-Through Shooting Gallery, Candy and Redemption Store, Carnival Row Skill Games, and Themed party rooms. Planned to Open Fall 2024.
JDR is providing providing HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Electrical/Lighting engineering for the new Tenant Space within the East Towne Mall facility. In addition to the Amusement areas within the space, the design will includ a full commercial kitchen area which included hood design and extensive coordination with the Foodservice equipment provider. - THE GARDENS RESIDENTIAL CARE APARTMENT COMPLEX
The Gardens Retirement Community is a 10-story tower overlooking the Hilldale shopping district and is classified as both a Community-Based Residential Facility (CBRF) and Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC). The newly renovated facility includes 30 CBRF and memory care units and 65 RCAC units.
While assisting the design-build contractor, JDR performed extensive code research to the the exisitng CBRF and RCAC facility to current code requirements. Field verification of existing building heating and cooling system was performed to determine viability of existing equipment to determine whether they could be re-used within the renovated building scope. New fan coil units were provided with updated controls to provide the new tenants with better occupant comfort while also providing more efficient units.
